💬 How It Works FAQ

Common Basics Questions

What happens if my pet gets lost?

Two things work in your favor. First, anyone who finds your pet and gets the chip scanned can look up the number and reach you directly — that's the whole point of registering. Second, once our Lost Pet Recovery tools are live, you'll be able to flag your pet as lost from your dashboard, which sends an alert to people signed up in your area and generates a printable flyer with your pet's photo and details. Keeping your contact info current is the single most important thing you can do to get your pet home.

How do I register my chip?

Three steps. Enter your pet's microchip number and details, add your contact and emergency information, and pay the one-time $14.95. You'll get a login right away so you can manage everything from your dashboard. The whole thing takes a few minutes.

Will vets and shelters find my pet's chip?

Yes. When a vet or shelter scans a found pet, they look the number up through the AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool — the industry-standard search every professional uses. PChipped is a participating registry in that tool, so a scan points them straight to your record. That lookup is what turns a chip number into a phone call to you.
