A microchip is a tiny passive tag, about the size of a grain of rice, placed under your pet’s skin between the shoulder blades by a vet. It is NOT a GPS and cannot track your pet’s location. It has no battery and does nothing on its own. It only does one thing: when a scanner passes over it, it reads out a unique ID number. That number, matched to your registration, is how someone reaches you.
